Shreyas Iyer has been impressive as a captain and batter in the 18th season of the Indian Premier League. He is leading the batting charts of his franchise, and his leadership has played an important role in the twin victories of PBKS. The team hasn’t won an IPL title, and the owners decided to add Iyer and Ponting to the team management success.

The early signs have been promising, with PBKS defeating Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants in away contests. Iyer has scored two fifties so far, and his batting at the No. 3 slot is proving beneficial.

He is currently the best player in spin bowling in the Indian Premier League and has been dominating the slow bowlers from the start. However, he has refused to get carried away with the team’s early success.

“This is the type of start we needed as a team in the IPL. Everyone is playing their roles to perfection, and the plans discussed during the team meetings are getting implemented during the games,” he said.

Iyer also spoke about the team combination. “I don’t think there is something we can call the right combination. You should go in the middle to win the match; this is what we do as a team. The innings against LSG is a thing of the past for me, and it is time to look forward to the next game,” he added.
