Virat Kohli has been in amazing touch for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025. RCB have won their first two matches this season and Kohli has looked excellent with the bat.
Amid this, there is a sudden yet monumental news which broke out on Tuesday that the India star is retiring immediately from IPL.
A buzz has created on social media that Kohli is set to hang his boots from IPL after the end of the season. A few social media act also confirmed that Kohli has rather decided to retire immediately and will not even be available for the next RCB match, scheduled to take place on Wednesday (April 2) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium against Gujarat Titans.
Kohli took his T20I retirement last year after winning the T20 World Cup in the West Indies. The veteran played a match-winning knock in the Final against South Africa and said at the post-match presentation that he will not be playing T20s for India anymore.
The veteran was also part of the Champions Trophy-winning squad earlier this year and although there were retirement rumours, Kohli announced that he will continue playing in the ODIs. But given the spontaneous decision to retire from T20 cricket, there is concern among the RCB fans if Kohli is indeed looking to retire from IPL after this season.
Fact Check: Virat Kohli is not Retiring from IPL anytime Soon
Virat Kohli is far, far away from retiring in the IPL. The great Indian player has been quite vocal about continuing with RCB in the tournament. And he will be there, at least for the next few years.
As for the latest rumours on social media, these are mostly hoaxes and some are also doing it as a prank for April Fool's Day. So, in terms of Virat Kohli's retirement, there is a big NO. And he will be in action for RCB against Gujarat Titans on Wednesday as they look to continue their winning momentum in the IPL 2025.
