However, it seems the franchise made a big mistake, as Lucknow has lost two matches while winning just one. Pant has been one of the worst performers in the 18th season and has gifted his wicket in all three games he has played. The mode of his dismissal has been shocking, with the batter going for shots without even spending time in the middle.

Nicholas Pooran has been their most consecutive batter. He has hit two fifty-plus scores and amassed 44 in the most recent contest against Punjab Kings. The hosts posted 171/7 but failed to defend the total as the visitors won the contest by 8 wickets.

Former India player Harbhajan Singh launched a sharp attack on the Lucknow-based franchise after they went down against Punjab.

“They are not performing, and their bowling is one of the weakest in the tournament. They have only Nicholas Pooran. Once their best bowler, Shardul Thakur, went for runs, the team had no comeback. Thakur was not good with the ball. He was not even in their scheme of things, but an injury to Mohsin Khan opened the doors for the all-rounder,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
