Delhi: The 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday. This match will be held at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. There is still a question mark on whether 21-year-old fast bowler Mayank Yadav will return to the Lucknow team from this match or not. Meanwhile, Lucknow's assistant coach Lance Klusener has given a big update on this.

Mayank came into limelight at the very beginning of this competition. The young pacer has played three IPL matches so far, in which he has consistently bowled the ball at speeds of around 150 kmph and faster. Yadav bowled at a speed of 156.7 kmph while playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Bengaluru and it also became the fastest ball of the 17th season of IPL.

However, Mayank has not been able to play in the last two matches for Lucknow due to a back strain after the match against Gujarat Titans (GT). Now Klusener said that Lucknow would now be eager to have him in the team, but there are still doubts over his availability.

The 52-year-old former South African all-rounder said on the eve of the match against Chennai Super Kings, “I am still not sure about his availability for the match against Chennai tomorrow. “He is training with the nets, but we want to give priority to his fitness, but nothing can be said about his participation in the match.”

Is Mayank Yadav still unfit?

In such a situation, there is still doubt on Mayank's availability. However, he has started practicing in the nets and a video of it has also been shared by the Lucknow franchise on social media. Now it remains to be seen when Mayank returns. At the same time, 3 matches have been played between Chennai and Lucknow so far, out of which both the teams have won 1-1, while 1 match has been cancelled. Apart from this, if we talk about their performance in IPL 2024, Lucknow has won 3 out of 6 matches and lost 3 matches, while Chennai has won 4 out of 6 matches and lost 2 matches.
