Rajasthan Royals batter Nitish Rana with his impressive 36 balls 81 runs guided RR to score 182 runs in their home clash against CSK while Hasaranga and the remaining bowlers successfully defended the total and bagged their first victory in IPL 2025.

Notably, CSK have lost each of the nine games in which they were set a 175-plus target since IPL 2021. They won the toss in seven of these games, including today.

Speaking of the match, CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. Jaiswal and Samson opened the batting attack for the Rajasthan Royals, while Khaleel Ahmed opened the bowling attack.

Jaiswal opened the inning with a boundary but got dismissed off the third delivery. But Nitish Rana made a terrific start and pushed RR’s score to 79 at the end of the first powerplay. Notably, during the process, Rana secured a 21 ball fifty.

Noor Ahmad in the 8th over broke the partnership by dismissing Samson for 20 runs. But on the other hand, Rana continued his aggression and dragged RR to score 99 runs at the end of 10 overs.

In the fourth delivery of the 12th over, Ashwin and Dhoni planned and dismissed Rana who stepped out of the crease with the motive to hit the ball hard.

CSK bowlers made a decent performance in the middle and death overs and contained Rajasthan Royals with a score of 182 for nine wickets at the end of 20 overs.

On the other hand, CSK made a terrible start by losing their key batter Rachin Ravindra for duck. Jofra Archer who bowled the first over dismissed Rachin for duck in the fourth delivery of the over.

Rajasthan Royals bowlers with their impressive bowling attack leaked only five runs in the first three overs. But the CSK batters made a bounce back and pushed the team’s score to 42 at the end of the first powerplay.

While CSK batters seem to be settled, Hasaranga in the 8th over, dismissed Tripathi for 23 runs and broke the partnership. Shivam Dube who was expected to play aggressively against spin attack, failed to do so and was dismissed for 18 runs.

At the end of 10 overs, CSK scored 74 runs for three wickets loss. Hasaranga again in the 12th over dismissed Shankar for 9 runs and loaded pressure over the CSK batters. With Ruturaj Gaikwad’s half-century, CSK managed to score 122 for four wicket at the end of 15 overs.

While Ruturaj Gaikwad looked settled with the bat, Hasaranga in the 16th over dismissed Gaikwad for 63 runs and turned things upside down. With 20 runs needed off the final over, Sandeep Sharma dismissed MS Dhoni off the first legal delivery and scattered CSK’s dream of chasing the target.

At the end of 20 overs, CSK managed to score 176 runs for six wickets and lost the game by six runs.
