Delhi: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that their team will not play any ODI match during the tour of Pakistan. A board official said that under the Future Tour Program (FTP), there will be only T20 matches in this series.

This decision has been taken keeping in mind the preparations for T20 Asia Cup 2025 and ICC T20 World Cup 2026. India will host the Asia Cup 2025, while India and Sri Lanka will jointly host the T20 World Cup 2026. In such a situation, the priority of Bangladesh team is to strengthen their preparations by playing more matches in T20 format.

Earlier, three ODIs and three T20 matches were to be held in this tour, but now this series will be completely based in T20 format. The two boards decided together that five T20 international matches will now be played between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh cricket team will visit Pakistan in May, while Pakistan will play three T20 matches in Bangladesh in July. The decision was finalized by both the cricket board officials in a meeting held during the ICC Champions Trophy.

Significantly, T20 matches between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played on 20, 22 and 24 July.
