Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured their first much-needed victory of IPL 2025 with a commanding 8-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati. This win helped the defending champions revive their campaign. The standout performer for KKR was Quinton de Kock, whose remarkable innings guided his team to victory. De Kock’s sensational knock made history as he became the first player ever to set a new record at the venue.

Opening the innings for KKR, Quinton de Kock played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 97 runs off 61 balls, which included 8 boundaries and 6 sixes.

This was the highest individual score ever recorded in the IPL at Guwahati, surpassing Shikhar Dhawan’s 86 runs for Punjab Kings against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023. De Kock’s 97 also made him the first player in history to score over 90 runs in an IPL match at Guwahati.

In addition to setting the record for the highest individual score, de Kock now holds the record for the second-highest total at the venue. He is just one run short of Jos Buttler, who has accumulated 98 runs across two games at the stadium.
