Delhi: New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets in the fifth and last T20 match to win the 5-match series 4–1. Pakistan, batting first, scored 128 runs losing 9 wickets, in response to which New Zealand achieved the target of 129 runs by losing just 2 wickets.
Tim Safurt contributed significantly to New Zealand's victory, who played an explosive innings of 97 runs in 38 balls with the help of 6 fours and 10 sixes. Safert laid the foundation of the team's victory by shaking a 93 -run partnership for the first wicket with Finn Alan (27).
Earlier, captain Salman Aga scored 51 and Shadab Khan scored 28 runs for the Pakistan team to bat after losing the toss. Both of them added 54 runs for the sixth wicket, but the rest of the batsmen could not do anything special. For New Zealand, Jimmy Neesham took 5 and Jacob Dafi took 2 wickets.
Pakistan's performance in this series was disappointing, leaving the third match, its batting was seen to be staggering. In the first T20, the team was reduced to just 91 runs, while in the second and fourth match, only 135 and 104 runs respectively.
