Mumbai won by 9 runs in a match that lasted till the last over. Chasing the target of 193 runs set by Mumbai, Punjab’s reply ended at 183 runs with five balls to spare.

As usual, Punjab’s batting line-up with Shashank Singh (41 off 25 balls), Ashutosh Sharma (61 off 28 balls) and Harpreet Brar (21) struck at the tail end, but victory remained elusive. Gerald Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets each for Mumbai.

After losing the toss, Mumbai Indians batted first and found a good score thanks to the brilliant batting performance of Suryakumar Yadav (78). Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 192 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav (78), who scored a half-century, was the strength of Mumbai. Rohit Sharma scored 36 runs and Thilak Verma scored 34 runs in the 250th IPL match. Harshal Patel took three wickets and captain Sam Curran took two wickets each for Punjab.
