The Women's ODI World Cup 2025 is going to be held in India this year, whose final match will be played at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on the outskirts of Chandigarh. More than Rs 230 crore has been spent at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium. 38000 spectators can sit in this stadium. This stadium has excellent drainage system. According to the report, the tournament will be held between September 29 to October 26. 8 teams will participate in this tournament and the matches will be played in five different cities. According to the report, the matches of this tournament will be held in Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Raipur and Indore besides Mullanpur (Chandigarh).
Mullanpur, Thiruvananthapuram and Raipur have not yet hosted any women's international matches. A 1997 World Cup match was played at Nehru Stadium in Indore, but this time there will be matches at Holkar Stadium. Visakhapatnam's ACA-VDCA Stadium has so far hosted 6 women T20I and 5 women ODIs.
So far 6 teams have qualified for the Women's ODI World Cup.
Australia is the current champion, besides England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and India have qualified for this tournament. The remaining 2 teams will be decided after the qualifier tournament to be held in Lahore from 9 April. If Pakistan qualifies, its matches can be played in the hybrid model (UAE or Sri Lanka), as the Mains Champions Trophy 2025 has already been reached between BCCI and PCB.This will be India's first ODI World Cup after the retirement of Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami.
