Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has suffered a big blow before their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign. Lucknow hoped that fast bowler Mayank Yadav would join the team after missing the opening match of IPL 2025 but now it does not seem to be happening because he has been injured again.
This season, the fast bowling attack of Lucknow seems to be very weak, as his four fast bowlers are getting injured. However, LSG has replaced experienced fast bowler Shardul Thakur in place of Mohsin Khan, but he still has a weak fast bowling attack. On the eve of the first match of his campaign against Delhi Capitals (DC), LSG head coach Justin Langer revealed Mayank Yadav that has made Lucknow's fans unhappy.
Langer said that his star fast bowler Mayank Yadav had to face another injury on the way to recover. The young fast bowler hit his bed on the bed and after which he fell victim to infection. His return may be further delayed due to injury. Talking to reporters on 23 March, Langer said, “Last year, everyone was very excited about Mayank, he was playing very well (returning with a back injury) but he killed his foot on the bed.”
Speaking further, he said, “His toe has been infected. This has taken his rehab a one or two weeks. But he is completely healthy. We regularly watch his bowling videos. I saw a video of him tomorrow. So, hopefully, hopefully Mayank will be healthy and will be ready to play for us.”
Let us tell you that Mayank was retained by the franchise in a huge amount of Rs 11 crore. He suffered a back injury in his first T20 series against Bangladesh last year. He has been out of the field since then. The 22 -year -old player is also going to miss several matches this season. Langer, who has also been the head coach of the Australian men's team, knows how much fast bowlers are at risk of injury. He admitted that the game's plan would change in the absence of Mayank, Akash Deep and Avesh Khan, but he is ready to deal with the challenge.
