Mumbai Indians wrist spinner Vignesh Puthur bagged his maiden IPL wicket by dismissing CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad for 53 runs. Vignesh Puthur who was from Malappuram in Kerala was signed by Mumbai Indians for INR 30 Lakh during the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Puthur who bowled the eight over off the inning dismissed Gaikwad in the fifth delivery and broke the 67 runs stand between Gaikwad and Rachin.

Vignesh Puthur went fuller and just outside off which Ruturaj Gaikwad lofted down the ground in an attempt to strike a maximum but the ball the ball lands safely over the hands of Will Jacks standing at long-off.

Speaking of the match, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to field first. Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton opened the innings for Mumbai Indians while Khaleel Ahmed opened the bowling attack for CSK.

Following Rohit’s dismissal, Will Jacks too got dismissed without making an impact on the scoreboard. Ashwin dismissed Will Jacks for 11 runs and opened his account in the IPL 2025 season.

Though Mumbai lost a couple of wickets at an early stage, Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav with their impressive knocks pushed MI to score 52 runs at the end of the first powerplay.

The duo went on to make some crucial shots and pushed the team’s score to 82 at the end of 10 overs. Noor Ahmad in the very next over dismissed Yadav for 29 runs and broke the settled partnership.

Noor Ahmad in the 13th over bagged a couple of wickets by dismissing Robin Minz(9) and Tilak Varma(31) and loaded the pressure on the Mumbai Indian’s batting lineup.

With Deepak Chahar’s 15 balls 28 runs, Mumbai managed to score 155 runs for nine wickets loss at the end of 20 overs.

While chasing, Rachin Ravindra opened the inning along with Rahul Tripathi while Trent Boult opened the inning on behalf of Mumbai Indians. Deepak Chahar in his very first over made a breakthrough by dismissing Tripathi for just two runs.

After an early dismissal, Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra started to add runs for CSK. With Ruturaj Gaikwad’s attacking strikes, CSK reached 62 runs after losing a wicket at the end of the first powerplay.
