The Indian Premier League 2025 is starting from March 22 but its schedule has changed before it begins. Actually, the schedule of a match of this league has to be changed. The venue of the match to be held on 6 April between KKR and Lucknow Supergiants has changed. This match was to be held earlier at Eden Gardens in Kolkata but now this match will be held in Guwahati. This decision was taken due to the celebration of Ram Navami in Kolkata. Actually, Kolkata Police informed that they will not be able to provide complete security on this day.
Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Snehashish Ganguly gave this information.
Snehashish Ganguly said that Kolkata Police has made it clear that due to more than 20,000 processions in the city on the day of Ram Navami, they will not be able to provide the entire security system for the match. He said, 'We asked BCCI to change the match schedule, but there is no scope to hold the match in the city later. Now this match will be in Guwahati. Let me tell you that going to Guwahati from Kolkata means that it will harm the Bengal Cricket Association. CAB could earn a lot of money from this match, but now this money will go to the pocket of Assam Cricket Association.Rajasthan Royals will also have two home matches in Guwahati. These matches will be played on 26 March and 30 March. After this, now KKR vs LSG match will also be played here. The Assam Cricket Association has assured to ensure all the necessary arrangements for the match.
