Yuzvendra Chahal reaches Mumbai court for divorce hearing before IPL match news in hindi

Yuzvendra chahal news: Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma, who lived separately, reached the Family Court in Bandra, Mumbai to hear the divorce application on Thursday, March 20, March 20.

Leg spinner was seen entering the court premises wearing a mask just two days before the Indian Premier League 2025. Both Chahal and Dhanshree went in havete in a hurry to avoid the eyes of the media.

Chahal reached Mumbai and reached the court on Thursday afternoon, when the Bombay High Court on Wednesday directed the family court to expedite the case and give the verdict by 20 March in view of their commitments with Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. Leg spinners were undergoing training with the Punjab Kings team in Chandigarh earlier this week before taking a break to attend the hearing.

Chahal and Dhanashree filed for divorce on 5 February with mutual consent. However, the Family Court on 20 February refused to waive the compulsory six -month cooling of period. The couple is living separately from June 2022 after 18 months of marriage.

The court, citing partial compliance of consent conditions, said that Chahal had paid Rs 2.37 crore out of Rs 4.75 crore payable to Dhanashree. It also cited the report of the marriage counselor, indicating incomplete arbitration efforts. Chahal and Dhanashree later challenged the family court's decision with a joint petition in the Bombay High Court.

Under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, a six-month cooling-off period is mandatory before divorce, but it can be forgiven if there is no possibility of reconciliation.
