Delhi: Team India's star cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal will have to pay Rs 4.75 crore as alimony (ultimate) after divorce to his wife Dhanashree Verma. Out of this, Chahal has already paid Rs 2.37 crore. Dhanashree and Chahal have been living separately from each other for a long time. The divorce case between the two is going on in the family court.

Important decision of Bombay High Court

The Bombay High Court accepted the petition of Dhanashree Verma, in which he demanded a six -month cooling of period to forgive.

Earlier there were some rumors that Chahal would have to pay an alimony of Rs 60 crore to Dhanashree, but Dhanshree's family had denied these reports.

Cooling of period apologies

High Court Judge Justice Madhav Jamdar has ordered that keeping in mind Chahal's IPL matches, the family court will have to take a decision on divorce till the next day. Under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, there is a six -month cooling of period for divorce.

Dhanashree had filed a petition to forgive it, so that the divorce could be decided quickly.

Important decision of Supreme Court

Chahal and Dhanashree have been living separately for a long time. Keeping this situation in mind, the High Court gave this order. In a case in 2017, the Supreme Court had admitted that if there is no hope of resolving the dispute between husband and wife, then the six-month cooling of period could be forgiven.
