Australia T20 team captain Mitchell Marsh has been approved to play for their new team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025, but only as batsmen. Let me tell you that due to back injury, Marsh was not able to play the Champions Trophy, he will reach India for the IPL next week.

The 33 -year -old Marsh was out of the ODI series and the Champions Trophy against Sri Lanka due to lower back pain and laxity. He has been scratching back trouble with the tour of England in September 2024.

Marsh started batting in recent weeks, after which he got approval for Lucknow to play only as a batsman. In such a situation, the franchise can use them as an impact player. Lucknow bought Marsh for Rs 6 crore 50 lakh in the mega auction held in November 2024. It is expected that he will join the team by 18 March.

Marsh played his last match in the Big Bash League on 7 January. He has not played a limited over match for Australia since last year's tour of England.

Marsh played for the last three seasons for Delhi Capitals and during this time he was troubled by some injuries. After playing just four matches for Delhi last year, Marsh was hurt by Marsh. After which he was out in the middle of the tournament keeping in view the captaincy of Australia in the T20 World Cup. Earlier, he has also played IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rising Pune Supergiants, Pune Warriors and Deccan Chargers.

Apart from Marsh, his teammates of Australia team Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood are also expected to be fit before the IPL. All three players have been away from cricket for some time due to different injuries.
