Former Team India captain and veteran batsman Sunil Gavaskar is once again angry. This time he has silenced the people who are questioning India's victory. After India's victory, former England cricketers and experts are picking up the most opposition and Gavaskar silenced him in one of his columns. Sunil Gavaskar has abolished the ongoing debate on 'Anfection Advantage' to India during the Champions Trophy 2025. India played all matches (including finals) in Dubai due to political tension with Pakistan, after which many former and current cricketers described it as a big advantage for India. However, Gavaskar dismissed such claims and gave an example of the England cricket team.

What did Gavaskar say?

Sunil Gavaskar wrote in his Sportstar's column, 'Yes, some people will say that India got the benefit of playing on the same venue and not traveling between matches. However, this decision was taken by the ICC before the tournament started. If someone had objections to this, then they should have said this before the first ball of the tournament. And if 'Home Advantage' is the reason for victory, then England, where most of the complaints are coming from, why couldn't win the ICC tournament half a dozen times before 2019?

Rohit Sharma's captaincy praises

Gavaskar further said that the real reason for India's victory was the balance of the team and the good leadership of captain Rohit Sharma. Gavaskar wrote, 'India won as it had a balanced team. In different matches of the tournament, different players played a match-changing role. The biggest thing was the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, who has reached equal to MS Dhoni by winning two ICC Trophy. Rohit also rejected the rumors of retirement and said that he has not yet decided to retire from this format.

What was the dispute?

During the Champions Trophy 2025, India decided not to play in Pakistan, after which all their matches were held in Dubai. Due to this, many people alleged that India benefited from it, because they did not have to travel on different venue and they could play all the matches at the same place. However, Gavaskar described these allegations as baseless and described India's victory as the result of the team's performance and captaincy.
