After the Champions Trophy 2025, now it is the biggest league of cricket i.e. IPL. The 18th season of IPL is going to start from 22 March. All the teams have intensified their preparations for this season. Meanwhile, a bad news has come out for the team of Lucknow Super Giants. A star player of Lucknow Super Giants is currently suffering from injury. According to a report, these players are going to miss many matches in IPL 2025. This player retained the LSG by spending crores of rupees before the mega auction.
Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Mayank Yadav has still not emerged from his injury. Mayank was injured in the T20I debut series against Bangladesh last October. He is struggling with a back injury. According to the report of ESPNcricinfo, Mayank Yadav will be out of the first half of IPL 2025, that is, he will not be able to play about 7 matches. Mayank has recently resumed bowling at BCCI's Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. If he fulfills all the fitness parameters along with increasing the bowling charge, he can play in the second half of the IPL.
Prior to the 2024 season, Mayank Yadav was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 20 lakh as an unaccounted fast bowler. During this, he made a lot of headlines. He can bowl at a speed of more than 150 kilometers per hour. But he could play only 4 matches in IPL 2024. After this, he was out of the side strain. Then he suffered another injury during the rehab.
Mayank Yadav may be able to play only 4 matches in the last season due to injury, but before the mega auction, Lucknow Super Giants showed confidence in him. Lucknow Super Giants retained him for Rs 11 crore. But Mayank's unavailability in the first half of the tournament is a big setback for LSG. According to the report, the BCCI has not yet set a fixed date for Mayank's return nor the BCCI has officially shared information about Mayank's injury.
