Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) officially announced that they have signed South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder as a replacement for injured English pacer Brydon Carse for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Mulder will join the team for INR 75 lakh.
Carse was expected to play a major role in SRH’s pace department. He is now ruled out because of an injury. The details of his injury and recovery period have yet to be announced. His absence is a big blow to the team.
Wiaan Mulder's Cricket Career
Wiaan Mulder is a 26-year-old South African all-rounder who has represented his nation in all three formats of the game: 11 T20Is, 18 Test matches, and 25 ODIs. To date, he has scored 970 runs and picked up 60 wickets in international cricket.
Mulder is a player who can perform with both bat and ball. He is a dependable middle-order batsman and a medium pacer capable of swinging the ball. His all-round abilities make him an asset for the SRH team.
According to a team official, “Mulder provides balance to the team. He is not as fast as Carse, but his accuracy and ability to move the ball will be handy.”
