Put into bat, Delhi Capitals rode on skipper Meg Lanning's fifty and her opening partner Shafali Verma's quick knock to set up a total of 177/5 in their allotted 20 overs at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium.
In response, Gujarat Giants lost their opener Dayalan Hemalatha early, but an 85-run stand from Beth Mooney and eventual match-winner Harleen helped steady the ship before cameos from Ashleigh Garnder and Deandra Dottin helped chase the target with 3 balls to spare.
With this result, Gujarat Giants registered their fourth win of the season and climbed back to the second spot in the WPL points table. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, remained on top despite the defeat, but can be displaced from the summit by either GG or Mumbai Indians.
