The Royal Challengers Bengaluru is considering signing Karnataka sensation Smaran Ravichandran as a replacement for injured Manoj Bhandage for the IPL 2025 season.

He came onto the radar of the Bengaluru franchise after brilliant performances in the DY Patil T20 tournament. Playing for Canara Bank, the left-hander has scored 190 runs in three matches at a strike rate of 186.27.

He also posted a back-to-back fifties which highlights his powerful batting techniques. He showed consistency have been good in all the formats. He scored a doble hundred and a hundred in the last two games in the Ranji Trophy 2025 season.

During the Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign, he scored 433 runs in seven innings. He also made a remarkable run in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 scoring 170 runs in six matches.

Smaran Ravichandran has played numerous matches in Bengaluru, which could prove to be an advantage for the franchise as an injury replacement for 18th season of IPL.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru has appointed Rajat Patidar as a RCB captain ahead of the 2025 season. They will be looking to win their maiden IPL title after picking set to new players in the mega auction.

RCB has made the playoffs in 2015 and were the runners of the 2016 season. The side also reached the playoff stage in 2020, 2021 and 2024 seasons.

Ahead of the 18th season, RCB will be hosting an unboxing event on March 17. In the event, fans will get an opportunity to meet their team’s players which could increase excitement about the season.

As per RCB Schedule 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play their first match of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 22 in Eden GardensKolkata.
