In the first semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Australia won the toss and chose to bat first against India.

“We’ve decided to bat first. The pitch looks quite dry, and the team has had a couple of practice sessions to get ready. It should offer some turn. India is a strong side. We’ve made two changes—Cooper Connolly replaces Short, and Sangha comes in for Johnson,” said Steve Smith.

“I was open to either option, but when in doubt, losing the toss isn’t a bad thing. The pitch conditions keep changing, so the key is to play quality cricket.

We’ve performed well in all three games, and we aim to continue that. It’s going to be a tough contest. We’re sticking with the same lineup,” Rohit Sharma said.

Australia XI : Cooper Connolly, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith(c), Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis(w), Alex Carey, Adam Zampa, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Tanveer Sangha

India XI: Rohit Sharma (C), Shman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, KL Rahul (W), Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Varun Chakravarthy
