Champions Trophy 2025: India take on Australia in one of the semi-final, while the other one would be played between New Zealand and South Africa.
With two cracking semi-finals coming up, the marquee ICC event has finally heated up as it enters the business end. When India take on Australia, it would be a repeat of the 2023 ODI World Cup final. In that game, a Pat Cummins-led Australian side upstaged India.
HISTORY FAVOURS AUSTRALIA?
So, would history repeat itself? Will India again end up losing against the Australians like the 2023 ODI WC? Does Australia have the XI to challenge India? And one has to also take into account India's dream run.
The Rohit-led side has won all their three matches and are the only team to still not lose a game.https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?creatorScreenName=Dailyhuntapp&dnt=false&embedId=twitter-widget-1&features=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%3D%3D&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1896236425106067909&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fm.dailyhunt.in%2Fnews%2Findia%2Fenglish%2Ffor%2Byou%3Flaunch%3Dtrue%26mode%3Dpwa&sessionId=9ff06d115d4298c5934877c41c4c875f9cf716ec&siteScreenName=Dailyhuntapp&theme=light&widgetsVersion=2615f7e52b7e0%3A1702314776716&width=550px
India's Biggest Threats vs Australia
Travis Head: Time and again, Head has fired against India. It has come to a point where one feels Head is waiting for India. Head loves the colour blue and hence he would certainly be one of the biggest threat for India. At the top of the order, he can get Australia off to a flier and put India behind in the game. He is a proven match-winner and India would surely have to device a plan against him.
Adam Zampa: The leg-spinner has looked the part in this tournament. He has been Steve Smith's go-to bowler in this event.
And to tilt things more in favour of the leggie, he would get much more assistant from the Dubai strip than he was in Pakistan . Zampa would be a real threat and he also has the wood over Virat Kohli . That would surely be one match-up to watch out for. How will the Indian batters look to tackle the Zampa threat could be the difference between the two teams on the day.
