According to Rovman Powell, Sunil Narine doesn’t want to play for the West Indies despite being a top performer in T20 leagues worldwide. The southpaw has some issues with the West Indies Cricket Board, and even after the players’ efforts, the situation remains the same.
Rovman Powell, who played an impactful innings against KKR, spoke about the situation. Rovman said he has been trying to convince Narine for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, but he is not ready to listen to anyone.
Narine was the best player of the night against Rajasthan Royals but ended up on the losing side. He slammed his maiden hundred and took two wickets and a catch for the two-time champions.
“I’ve been whispering in Sunil Narine’s ears for the last 12 months about the T20 World Cup selection, but he’s blocked out everyone,” Rovaman Powell said.
Powell scored 26 runs off 13 balls, with the help of 3 sixes and 1 four. He was dismissed by Narine.
Meanwhile, Kolkata posted 223/6 in 20 overs. It was not enough, as Jos Butter scored his second hundred of IPL 2024 to win the game for Rajasthan by two wickets.
Rajasthan have 12 points from 7 games and are leading the points table with the Knight Riders in second spot after recording 8 points from 6 matches.
