Pakistan Cricket Board is in action mode after the team’s defeat against India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The decision-makers will sack interim head coach Aaqib Javed and his support staff. The Men in Green lost the contest by six wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Earlier, Pakistan lost to New Zealand by 60 runs.

A source has revealed that Aaqib Javed will be issued his marching orders after the Champions Trophy.

“The backlash is there over the team’s performance.

The board hasn’t decided to appoint different coaches for white-ball and red-ball teams but one thing is confirmed the current support staff will be removed after the poor show in the ICC event,” the source told PTI.

“However, it will be difficlut to find coaches as the board has changed a lot of personnel in the recent past,” he added.

High-profile names Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie left Pakistan due to differences with the board officials.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had appointed Aaqib on an interim basis. The sub-continent team will play in New Zealand from March 16 to April 5 in five T20Is and three fifty-over games.

The PCB was busy preparing for the Champions Trophy, but the hiring process for the coaches will start now.

“PCB will not get foreign coaches because of the way Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie were treated. They will have to speak to former Pakistan players for the job,” the source concluded.
