Former India player Harbhajan Singh was pissed off with what Riyan Parag did in IPL 2024 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens.
Parag was looking confident and set for a big score against the hosts. However, he made a big mistake of trying to hit every ball for boundaries and ended up gifting his wicket to Harshit Rana.
He scored 34 runs off 14 balls, packed with 4 fours and 2 sixes. After hitting a four and a six, the young batter went for a shot that was never on and paid the price in the form of his wicket.
His departure allowed KKR to crawl back into the game, with Rajasthan losing regular wickets. Harbhajan was unhappy with Parag.
“This has been Parag’s biggest problem for years. He was looking set but played a needless shot. He should learn from his mistake. He had already got enough runs from the over and shouldn’t have played the shot,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
Parag has been in blistering form in the 17th season and has slammed three fifties. Riyan is among the top five run-scorers, a much-improved performance after years of below-par display.
Earlier, Sunil Narine’s hundred took the KKR’s total to 223/6.
