Kolkata: It was not the best of starts for Kolkata Knight Riders after they were put into bat by Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday as the home side lost their in-form opener Phil Salt early. Avesh Khan picked up the prized scalp as he took an incredible one-handed return catch in his second over itself. It was a short ball that seemed to have got a little big on Salt, who could not get it out of the middle, instead, it hit the bat on the higher side and that ensured the ball went straight back to the bowlers – who dived to his wrong side to pull off a stunner.
Here is the clip of the catch that is now going viral:
“We would like to bowl first. Might be better to chase on this. Very much excited to be back in Eden Gardens, there’s a great vibe in the stadium. Jos and Ash are available for this game, so they are coming back,” Royals captain Sanju Samson said after winning the toss.
At the time of filing the copy, the powerplay was over and the Knight Riders scored 56 in it. Sunil Narine and Ankrish Raghuvanshi are in the middle.
