Gujarat Titans all-rounder Rashid Khan has rated his own performance in the Indian Premier League 2024. The veteran is unhappy with his display and the number of wickets he has taken so far. He hasn’t been at his best since returning to cricket after back surgery.
Khan has picked up 6 wickets from 6 games in the 17th season. Rashid admitted that he is struggling after surgery and is trying his best to get his rhythm back. The all-rounder is happy that his body has managed to overcome the challenges. The veteran is glad to play a small role for the last year’s finalists.
“I am not happy with my wickets tally and how I have performed in IPL 2024. However, this is the nature of T20 cricket, and I have still not regained my rhythm after my back surgery. I enjoyed my bowling in the last two or three matches as my body didn’t trouble me.
“Sometimes, you have to play a little role, which helps in the win. I am trying to give my best and change the game’s momentum in my franchise’s favor. I will try to take more wickets in the remaining matches,” Rashid told ANI.
Shubman Gill has done a fantastic job as captain: Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan lauded new GT captain Shubman Gill, who was given the responsibility after Hardik Pandya left the team to return to Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2024.
“It is good to see his progress as a captain. He has led from the front and consistently scored runs for the team. He is someone who always gives his best, regardless of the situation and condition.
‘He has given his best as captain. He is helping his teammates in the right way, and that’s how you want a captain to be,’ Rashid added.
