Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) dominated Delhi Capitals (DC) with a brilliant bowling attack and a powerful fifty from captain Smriti Mandhana.
They secured a comfortable eight-wicket victory in their TATA Women's Premier League 2025 match in Vadodara on Monday.
With this win, RCB remains unbeaten in the tournament, topping the points table with two wins in two matches. Meanwhile, DC, with one victory and one defeat, sits in third place.
RCB Strikes Early with the Ball
RCB won the toss and chose to bowl first. Their decision paid off immediately as Renuka Singh dismissed Shafali Verma on the first ball of the innings. The opener mistimed her shot and handed a simple catch to Smriti Mandhana at mid-off.
Despite the early setback, Jemimah Rodrigues and captain Meg Lanning tried to rebuild the innings. Rodrigues played aggressively, smashing boundaries off Ekta Bisht and Joshitha. Thanks to her efforts, DC reached 50 runs in just 5.4 overs.
Georgia Wareham and Kim Garth Break DC's Momentum
Just as DC looked to gain control, Georgia Wareham broke their 60-run partnership. She got Rodrigues stumped by Richa Ghosh for 34 off 22 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes.
Shortly after, Kim Garth sent Lanning back for 17 off 19 balls. At 62/3 in 7.3 overs, DC found themselves in trouble.
DC Loses Grip After the 10-Over Mark
Annabel Sutherland and Marizanne Kapp kept DC's hopes alive, taking them to 83/3 in 10 overs. However, Renuka struck again, removing Sutherland for 19 off 13 balls. Mandhana took a sharp catch at extra cover, reducing DC to 84/4 in 10.2 overs.
After that, DC struggled to form strong partnerships. Sarah Bryce (23 off 19) and Shikha Pandey (14 off 15) tried to fight back but failed to accelerate the scoring.
RCB's bowlers kept the pressure on. Wareham, Garth, Renuka, and Bisht dismantled DC's lineup, bowling them out for 141 in 19.3 overs.

Smriti Mandhana and Danni Wyatt Dominate the Chase
Chasing 142, RCB openers Smriti Mandhana and Danni Wyatt Hodge started aggressively. Mandhana hit two boundaries off Marizanne Kapp in the first over, setting the tone. She continued her attacking approach, smashing Minnu Mani in the third over.
As the powerplay neared its end, Hodge joined the onslaught, striking two fours off Shikha Pandey. RCB raced to 50 runs in just 5.1 overs. At the end of the powerplay, they were cruising at 57/0, with Mandhana on 32* and Hodge on 22*.

Their opening partnership of 107 runs ended when Arundhati Reddy dismissed Hodge for 42 off 33 balls. Rodrigues took a sharp catch at deep cover, leaving RCB at 107/1 in 10.5 overs.
RCB Seals the Win in Style
Mandhana didn't slow down even after losing her partner. She kept hammering boundaries, bringing RCB close to victory. However, her brilliant knock of 81 off 47 balls (10 fours, three sixes) ended when Shikha Pandey got her caught by Arundhati. At that point, RCB was 133/2 in 15.1 overs.
