A fighting 35-ball 83 by Dinesh Karthik and a 28-ball 62 were not enough as RCB managed 262/7 in reply to SRH’s record 287/3 in an IPL 2024 encounter on Monday. Chasing a mammoth total, RCB were on track until the eighth over as they scored 100 for the loss of two wickets. However, few wickets in the middle including that off Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis put SRH back in the game. Earlier, Travis Head cracked the fourth-fastest ton in IPL history, while Heinrich Klaasen smashed a fiery half-century as Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 287/3 playing against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. This was the highest-ever total in the history of IPL and second-highest in all forms of T20. SRH had on March 27 smashed a sensational 277/3 against Mumbai Indians to reset the previous record.
