Delhi: No Indian match officer will be included in the Champions Trophy 2025. The main reason behind this is that two possible match officials of India, Jawagal Srinath (Match Referee) and Nitin Menon (Elite Panel umpire), have described themselves as unavailable for matches in Pakistan.
According to sources, Srinath and Menon decided with mutual consent with the ICC that they would not take any umpiring assignments in Pakistan. For this reason, Indian umpires have been excluded from the tournament, keeping in mind the imperative of neutral umpires between India and Pakistan.
India's matches will be in Dubai
The official host of the Champions Trophy 2025 is Pakistan, but a hybrid model has been adopted after long deliberations. Under this model, India will play all its matches in Dubai, which will also include semi -finals and finals, if they qualify.
List of match officials
The tournament will have a total of 12 umpires, including the ICC's 'Umpire of the Year' Richard Illingworth and other experienced umpires. Ahsan Raza of Pakistan is the only Pakistani umpire included in this list.
