India vs England ODI: The England cricket team has suffered a major setback before the three ODI series starting on 6 February against India. However, the team management is confident that Smith will recover completely before the Champions Trophy starts 2025. Let us know that England are to play their first match against Australia on 22 February in the Champions Trophy.

During the third T20 International played against India in Rajkot, Smith had trouble in the calf, after which he went out of the field.

England plans to assess Smith's fitness in the final ODI of the series to be held in Ahmedabad next Wednesday (February 12). Let us know that the ICC has kept the last date for the final team for the Champions Trophy on 12 February.

The three -match ODI series will begin in Nagpur on Thursday, while the second match will be played on Sunday. In the absence of Smith, the options in England's top order are limited, but the return of the experienced Joe Root will benefit the team.

Rehan Ahmed, who was initially selected only for the T20 series, has been retained for ODIs. However, he did not get a chance to play a single match in the T20 series.

India has also included spinner Varun Chakraborty in the team for the ODI series. He took the most 14 wickets in the series against England. 33 -year -old Varun did not debut in ODIs and he has only 23 List A match experience.

In this series, the Indian team will return to the leading senior players including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.
