Fit-again Gerald Coetzee and six uncapped players included as South Africa announced their 12-member squad for the first match of the upcoming ODI Tri-Series in Pakistan, scheduled from February 8 to 14.

Coetzee missed the SA20 due to an hamstring injury, but the pacer's recovery has provided a massive boost to the Proteas ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025 after it was confirmed that Anrich Nortje will miss the ICC tournament, set to begin on February 19.

Batters Matthew Bretzkee, Meeka-eel Prince, pacers Eathan Bosch, Gideon Peters, all-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana and spinner Senuran Muthusamy have all been handed their first call ups to the ODI side with several others set to join the squad post the SA20 2025.

South Africa head coach Rob Walter has announced only a 12-member squad for their first match against New Zealand, scheduled to take place on February 10 in Lahore with more players to be added after the SA20 eliminator between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Joburg Super Kings.

Other ODI regulars, who have been named in the Champions Trophy squad, like Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Marco Jansen, Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada, Tristan Stubbs, Tabraiz Shamsi, Rassie van der Dussen, Keshav Maharaj and Tony de Zorzi are likely to join the group later.
