Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar spoke on wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson's pattern of dismissals in the 5-match T20I series against England which the Men in Blue ended up winning by 4-1.
Samson wasn't much troubled by the length but did face many problems with the speed that the ball came towards him and the technique he used to overcome it.
'He is getting a little slow. The ball seems to be rushing onto him. That is something he needs to work on. After playing those shots, he could have maybe changed his trigger movement and got onto the off-stump because these players do that quite comfortably. So little street smartness at the right time should see him through,' Manjrekar told ESPNcricinfo..
Despite playing brilliantly in India's previous T20I series against Bangladesh and South Africa, Samson wasn't able to deliver in the recently concluded 5-match series against England.
The wicketkeeper-batter only managed to score a total of 51 runs throughout the 5 matches against England. This poor performance may once again see him get dropped from the starting XI in India's T20I series in the coming future.
