Abhishek Sharma's record-breaking night on Sunday, February 2, saw the Sunrisers Hyderabad opener make history after history, as his sensational 135-run knock bamboozled England in the 5th T20I at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Amongst a series of records broken, one such record that went unnoticed or say less-talked about, was his intent in the powerplay.

India registered their best-ever powerplay score, but Abhishek Sharma surpassed compatriot Yashasvi Jaiswal's stunning record in the process.

The Rajasthan Royals opener held the record for scoring most runs inside a T20I powerplay for India with 53 runs. Abhishek Sharma went one-step ahead and ended up scoring 58 runs to achieve the remarkable feat.

Shivam Dube returned for the 5th T20I after being substituted by Harshit Rana in the 4th T20I due to concussion, and the Indian all-rounder was happy with his performance in the 5th T20I.

"It feels great when you contribute as an all-rounder for the team. I was very excited to bowl. Last match I did not get the opportunity but today I got and I am very happy with my bowling. Yeah definitely the wicket was really good for the batting side. Today I enjoyed bowling as well," said Shivam Dube.

"Nothing much, he (Abhishek) told me that the wicket is playing really good and I knew that we were already on top so I just wanted to go hard on the bowlers. I was working with the new Bowling Coach, Morne Morkel. He has helped me with some angles and it has helped me a lot in my bowling today," he added.

England Captain Reflects On Humiliating Defeat In 5th T20I

Jos Buttler (England Captain):

"Yeah we are disappointed to lose the series. We have done some things well, we want to improve on some things. We have to keep committing to the style of cricket we want to play. Yeah, a little bit of both. India are a fantastic side at home. Our guys will be better from this experience. We want to keep on improving and get better."

"Some of the bowling performances. Mark Wood and Brydon Carse were outstanding today. I have seen a lot of cricket but Abhishek Sharma's knock was as good as I have seen. Yeah, I am sure. He is always keen to bowl. A great guy to welcome back into the squad. We look forward to the ODIs. It is but I think it is getting closer and closer to T20ls."
