Harsha Bhogle’s comments on social media often leads to debate and backlash for the renowned commentator. He faced massive flak for highlighting Virat Kohli’s strike rate in T20 cricket. Former India player Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has hit out at Bhogle for tweeting on Chennai Super Kings’ batting performance against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2024.
Although CSK scored 206 in 20 overs, Bhogle felt the defending champions were short.
“206 is a fine score but on this surface, with a bit of dew coming in and not many bowling options, #CSK will think they needed another 20,” he wrote on X.
“They probably were a bit short but in the middle overs, #CSK were brilliant. Once again, they have made the most of their resources. Truly admirable. This is a performance worthy of a champion team,” he further added after Chennai thumped Mumbai by 20 runs.
Laxman, who played for India and Tamil Nadu, didn’t like the comment and levelled serious allegations against Harsha.

Ruturaj Gaikwad (69 off 40), Shivam Dube (66 off 38) and MS Dhoni (20 off 4) led the scoring chart for the Chennai-based franchise.
Rohit Sharma was instrumental for Mumbai and slammed his second IPL hundred. However, his knock of 105 not out went in vain after he failed to get support from the other batters.
Matheesha Pathirana took four wickets for the five-time champions.
