India made three changes in the fourth T20I against England. Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, and Arshdeep Singh replaced Dhruv Jurel, Washington Sundar, and Mohammed Shami. These three made important contributions to the team’s win by 15 runs. Dube scored 53 runs off 34 balls, while Rinku Singh amassed 30 runs off 26 balls. Arshdeep took one wicket in the contest as the visitors were bowled out for 166 runs.
The Men in Blue lost three wickets in one over, with the score being just 12 runs. Sanju Samson (1), Tilak Varma (0), and captain Suryakumar Yadav (0) were sent back by Saqib Mahmood. Rinku Singh joined hands with Abhishek Sharma (29) and took the score to 59 runs before the latter departed. Rinku then added 22 runs with Dube. The southpaw hit 4 fours and 1 six. His performance was hailed by former England player Kevin Pietersen, who called him a boundary hitter.
Rinku was injured during the series opener in Kolkata and missed the two games in Chennai and Rajkot. His absence was felt as the team managed just a 2-wicket win in the second contest while losing the third. He was added to the playing XI the moment he recovered, and the batter’s contribution was one of the reasons behind the overall total.
“Rinku Singh is a boundary hitter, and boundary hitters put the bowlers under pressure. He played well and hit good shots,” he said on Star Sports.
