Arshdeep Singh has taken 99 wickets in 63 T20I matches for the Men in Blue. He needs just one more scalp to become the fastest in the world to touch the milestone. The left-arm seamer was dropped from the third game to give match time to returning Mohammed Shami. He was brought back for the Pune contest and took one wicket.

There is a possibility of him getting benched in the final match of the series in Mumbai, as the team management would want to give him another chance to Shami before the ODI series against England.

When Anant Tyagi highlighted that Arshdeep needs one more scalp to complete a century of wickets in the shortest format, Piyush Chawla mentioned that personal records are not important. He can achieve the record in the future.

“100 wickets are not important, and Arshdeep Singh can complete it in the future series. He will get time to reach the record. It is important to give match time to Mohammed Shami as he is going to represent India in the Champions Trophy.

“He will have another T20I and three ODIs against England to get ready for the Champions Trophy,” he said on Star Sports.

Suresh Raina also opined on the matter, saying India can play two specialist fast bowlers in Mumbai. “India can play two or three seamers in Mumbai. There is a possibility of Shami sharing the ball with Arshdeep or with Harshit Rana,” he said.
