Afghanistan veteran retirement from international cricket suddenly

Delhi: Afghanistan's veteran fast bowler Shapur Jadran has announced his retirement from international cricket. Shapur, who was an important part of the Afghanistan cricket team for almost 10 years, was known for his long stature and deadly bowling.

Shapur Jadran was the hero of winning the first World Cup match in Afghanistan's cricket history. He made the team proud by scoring a winning run in a historic victory against Scotland in the 2015 World Cup.

However, he was running out of the national team since last playing against Ireland in Greater Noida in 2020.

After maintaining the hope of returning to the team for four years, now the 37 -year -old fast bowler has said goodbye to cricket.

Announcing his retirement on Facebook, Jadran wrote, “Today the day has come, which I never wanted to face, but every player has to go through this day. After 22 years of service, sacrifice and love for cricket, I am officially retiring from international cricket. ”

He further said, “This has been the most difficult decision of my life, because cricket is not just a game, but my passion, identity and purpose.

Since childhood, I dreamed of representing Afghanistan and I am proud that I raised the flag of my country on the international stage. ”

Shapur Jadaran played a total of 80 international matches in his career, including 44 ODIs and 36 T20s. In the ODI, he took 43 wickets, while taking 37 wickets in T20I. Jadran, who made his debut in international cricket in 2009, played his last match in 2019.
