India defeated England by 15 runs in the fourth T20I to clinch the series by a margin of 3-1 with one more match left in Mumbai. Harshit Rana, who was on his debut in the shortest format, took three wickets. He came on as a concussion substitute for Shivam Dube, who was hit on the helmet in the last over of the Men in Blue’s innings.
He scored a fifty but didn’t come out to the field. Former England player Kevin Pietersen accused the officials of favoring the hosts by allowing Rana to replace Dube.
According to the rule, if a player is down with a concussion, his team is allowed to field a like-to-like replacement, but a lot of debate happened on the similarities between Harshit and Dube. The young cricketer spoke about his debut in T20Is.
“It is a dream debut for me. I was informed about being used as a concussion substitute after the two overs. I am working hard in the nets and want to prove myself. I wanted to deliver for the team,” Harshit Rana said.
Ravi Bishnoi got rid of three batters as India bowled out England for 166 runs. Earlier, Dube and Hardik Pandya slammed the fifties and took the score to 181/9 in 20 overs.
