The all-rounder Mitchell Marsh who joined Lucknow Super Giants for a price of INR 3.4 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction has recently complained of a back injury he sustained during the summer season.

As a result, he was ruled out of next month’s Champions Trophy 2025 and remains uncertain for the Indian Premier League which is set to begin in March.

Mitchell Marsh has played around 42 IPL matches since his debut in 2010 season. He has scored 666 runs with a high score of 89 an average of 19.59 and a strike rate of 127.83. Meanwhile, he has 37 wickets with an economy of 8.52 in the IPL.

Despite his inconsistent performance in recent days, the Australian T20I captain could prove to be a valuable player in the middle order for LSG.

If he skips the IPL 2025 due to injury, the franchise will look for a possible replacement for the upcoming 18th season of the cash rich T20 league.

New Zealand batting all-rounder Daryl Mitchell was another big name to have missed an IPL contract in the upcoming edition. His IPL stint began in 2022 seasn with Rajasthan Royals and after an impressive performance during the 2023 ODI World Cup, he gained the attention of the CSK who signed him for INR 14 crore.
