Josh Inglis's quickfire 100 came to an end, as he was dismissed by Prabath Jayasuriya on the score of 102 off 94 deliveries. With his ton, he now has the 2nd fastest ton by any batsman on debut in the entire history of Tests (90 balls).

The all-time record still belongs to Shikhar Dhawan, who scored a ruthless 85-ball hundred against Australia at Mohali in 2013.

Not many Australians have made their Test debut in Asia, and very few of them have managed to excelled. Josh Inglis is now the third Australian ever to score a hundred on Test Debut in Asia.

  • Michael Clarke (151) vs India, Bengaluru, 2004
  • Shaun Marsh (141) vs Sri Lanka, Pallekele, 2011
  • Josh Inglis (102) vs Sri Lanka, Galle, 2025

Australia Torment Sri Lankan Bowlers On Day 2

Not at all a memorable start for Sri Lanka in the home Test series against Australia, as the first two days have belonged to the visitors, with them breaking records after records.

From Travis Head, to Steve Smith, to Usman Khawaja, and now Josh Inglis, it has truly been a 'stat-padding' Test for Australia, who are making their final preparations ahead of a highly-competitive 2025, where they play in the ICC Champions Trophy, alongside contesting the World Test Championshiop 2025 Final.

Australia declared their innings on 654/6, before reducing Sri Lanka to 44/3 on Stumps, Day 2. A victory isn't a matter of 'if' now, as the Australians have all but put the game to the bed in Galle.
