The Champions Trophy is left about 3 weeks in 2025 and at this time all the attention is felt on whether the Pakistan Cricket Board will be able to prepare the stadiums of Lahore and Karachi on time. Amid this effort of the Pakistani board, it has to take a big decision. According to reports, PCB has decided to cancel the opening ceremony for this time Champions Trophy. Along with this, there will be no press conference and official photoshoot of the captains to be held before the tournament. That is, the speculation that was being made about Team India captain Rohit Sharma going to Pakistan is also over.
The Pakistani media report claims that the Pakistani board has decided to cancel all programs including the Opening Ceremony of the Champions Trophy. The reason for this is the reason for two teams being unable to reach Pakistan on time. These two teams are Australia and England, who are currently busy in different series in Sri Lanka and India. Test series is being played between Australia and Sri Lanka, which also includes some players from the Champions Trophy Squad, while the England team is currently playing T20 series in India, after which the ODI series will also play.
Not only the opening ceremony, but before every ICC event, there has been a press conference of the captains of all the teams, after which the captains also have a photoshoot with the tournament trophy. But now both these events will not be there. Due to this, the speculation of Team India captain Rohit Sharma going to Pakistan has come to an end. Some time ago, it was claimed in the reports that Indian captains could go to Pakistan for a press conference but it was not confirmed. But now the event has been canceled, due to which this possibility has also been over. That is, Rohit Sharma will also go directly to Dubai along with the entire team, where Team India will play their matches.
The Pakistani board is already facing trouble due to the stadiums not being ready yet. In two major venue of Lahore and Karachi, the work of re -preparing the stadium has not been completed yet, while the deadline has already been left and the current deadline is also going to end. In such a situation, there may also be a threat to the safety of players during the matches in these stadiums.
