Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) batting coach Kieron Pollard has supported captain Hardik Pandya after losing to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the big match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) played at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. The former MI player said that he is tired of blaming any one player for the defeat and cricket is a team game.

36-year-old Kieron Pollard said after the match, “I am tired of blaming each and every player. Ultimately cricket is a team game. He should play for the country in the next six weeks and everyone there will be cheering for him. He would like to perform well.”

The veteran all-rounder further said, “Similarly, now we need to encourage him without choosing anyone and without blaming him, but the best performance can be expected only from the best all-rounder of India. He can bowl, bat and field. This is his biggest specialty.”

Let us tell you that despite winning the important toss in the match against Chennai, Hardik's decisions taken on the field as captain were criticized. Not getting the spinners to bowl in the middle overs, Dhoni hitting three consecutive sixes in the last over of Chennai's innings were the main reasons for Hardik's criticism.

Dhoni attacked, Rohit's hard work went in vain

In this match, former MI captain Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant century, but while chasing the target of 207 runs, he could not succeed in leading his team to victory. Sharma completed his century in 61 balls in the last over of the match. In such a situation, when the match was already out of hand and the legendary opening batsman did not celebrate his century.

On the other hand, Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit three consecutive sixes against Hardik, who bowled the last over during CSK's innings in the match. Dhoni remained unbeaten after scoring 20* runs in 4 balls. At the same time, Mumbai also lost by 20 runs.
