New Delhi: Varun Chakravarthy has made a massive jump in the ICC Men's T20Is bowler's rankings after his brilliant performances against England in the ongoing five-match T20I series.
In addition, Tilak Varma also moved to the second position in the batter’s ranking and will be eyeing Travis Head's position at the top of the batting charts.
Chakravarthy is in brilliant form and has picked up 10 wickets in the last three T20I matches against England. He climbed 25 positions to fifth after his five-wicket haul in Rajkot while Rashid Khan has re-claimed the top spot in the men’s T20I rankings.
India spinner Axar Patel moved up five spots and is in 11th position on the list and England’s fast bowler jumped 13 positions to sixth after taking two wickets in third T20I against India. Indian batter Tilak Varma also jumped one spot and moved to second.
The Australian batter still holds a 23-point lead but Varma is in sensational form and has scored 19*, 72* and 18 in three T20I matches against England so far. If he manages to surpass Head, he will become the youngest player to top the rankings. The record for the youngest player to top the rankings is held by Babar Azam who became the no.1 T20I batter at the age of 23 years and 105 days.
