Indian batting couldn’t get going against England in the third T20I. Chasing 172 runs to clinch the series, the hosts never looked in the hunt. The English bowlers were spot-on from the start and kept picking up wickets at regular intervals. Although Hardik Pandya scored 40 runs for the Men in Blue, he took 35 balls, making the task impossible. With a 26-run win, England has kept the series alive, with the scoreline being 2-1 in favor of India, with two matches left.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav was confident of India’s win till Hardik and Axar Patel were at the crease. He credited Adil Rashid for not allowing the batters to score runs freely, which was the main reason behind England’s victory.

“With Hardik and Axar in the middle, I thought we had a chance. I was thinking that dew might help us in our chase. Credit goes to Adil bhai. He didn’t allow us to score runs. He is a world class spinner and he showed it once again,” he said after the match.

SKY was not pleased with the bowling effort in the death overs. “From 127/8, we allowed them to take the total to 171/9. I think that was too much in the context of the game but that happens in cricket and you can’t do anything about it,” he added.

Yadav lauded Varun Chakravarthy for taking five wickets in the match and was also satisfied with Mohammed Shami’s return to the side.
