Mohammed Shami was declared fit long ago, this player was also selected in Team India but till now he has not got a chance to play even a single match. Shami was seen sitting on the bench in Kolkata and Chennai T20 against England. He was seen only practicing bowling but did not get a chance in the playing eleven. The question is why is this happening? Is Shami still not fit? These questions were answered by Team India's new batting coach Sitanshu Kotak. Sitanshu Kotak said in the press conference held in Rajkot on Monday that there is no concern about Shami's fitness but the decision on his playing will be taken by captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir.
Sitanshu Kotak said in the press conference, 'Shami is fit but I cannot take a decision about whether he will play or not. There will be some strategy for Shami in the upcoming matches and ODIs but the decision on this will be taken by the coach and captain. There is no problem regarding his fitness. Sitanshu Kotak said that he knows that Shami is absolutely fit but he does not know when this player will play. The thing is a bit strange but the biggest question here is that if Shami is completely fit then why did he not play the last two T20 matches?
Mohammed Shami has been away from international cricket since the final of the World Cup 2023. This player got injured while performing brilliantly in the World Cup. This player's knee and ankle were both injured. Shami even had an ankle operation in February last year. Recently, Shami proved his match fitness by playing in Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Now it remains to be seen when Shami will once again be seen in the Indian playing eleven. The third T20 match between India and England will be played in Rajkot on Tuesday. Team India is leading 2-0 in the series, it has a chance to gain an unassailable lead in the series in Rajkot itself.
