Former Australian veteran Ian Chappell has called the International Cricket Council (ICC) an event management company. They believe that ICC does not run cricket but is like an event managing company. Ian Chappell also mentioned India during this period. Apart from this, he also expressed concern about Test cricket. Chappell emphasized that the ICC should have implemented a two -tier test system till now. Apart from this, he also raised questions about Test status to countries like Ireland and Afghanistan.

Chappell rang on ICC

Chappell is counted among the best captains in Australian cricket history. The 81-year-old Chappell wrote in his column in 'ESPNcricinfo', 'Former West Indies fast bowler Michael Holding has said- despite all his mistakes, at least FIFA football runs. ICC should also run cricket. This is a complex problem, ICC does not run cricket and until it does not change, the financially strong countries will not have any problem in preparing their own mind '.

India's position strong in ICC

Chappell, referring to India, has described India's position in the ICC as very strong. He said, 'India's strong presence in ICC is in proportion to about 70% of his contribution to cricket income. This is a complex issue that cricket has not found any practical solution '.

Questions raised on giving Test status to Afghanistan-Ayland

Chappell also targeted Test status to countries like Ireland and Afghanistan. Both these countries have started playing Tests from the year 2018. Earlier, both countries used to play only ODI and T20. Chapel said that both countries should not conduct Tests. According to him, these countries do not have enough facilities. He has neither a good first class tournament nor is this country financially strong for it.

He further wrote, 'As an example, can Afghanistan organize a Test series in its threatened country? Do Ireland really have the number of grounds? The answer to these questions is not at all. Then why have they got Test status? Because instead of Test status, they vote for ICC on important issues. The ICC is widely considered as an event management company. But he is not very good in managing the event too '.

Chapel's International Career

Chappell started his Test career in 1964. Chappell scored 5345 runs in 75 Tests. During this time 14 century innings came out of his bat. At the same time, Ian, who started an ODI career in 1971, scored 673 runs in 16 ODIs with the help of 8 half century.
