The International Cricket Council announces the nominations of the annual awards at the end of every year and the names of the winners are revealed at the beginning of the new year. This time too, the ICC is announcing the names of the winning players of the ICC Awards between 24 and 28 January. The first announcement was made by the ICC on 26 January for the ICC Mains Associate Player of the Year. The award managed to win a star player from Namibia. The special thing is that this player has won this award for the second time.

ICC Men's Associate Player of the Year

The award of the 2024 ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year has been won by Namibia captain Gerhard Irasamsam. The previous year was quite spectacular for Gerhard Erasmus. He performed strongly for his team in ODI as well as T20 format, due to which he managed to win this award. Gerhard Irasamus has been voted ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year for the second time. Earlier in the year 2024 too, he managed to win this award.

In the year 2024, Gerhard Irasamus performed well with the bat as well as the ball. He scored 727 runs in 25 matches and took 36 wickets. During this, Gerhard Erasmus scored 364 runs in 12 matches in ODIs at an average of 33.09 and took 18 wickets at an average of 22.38. On the other hand, in T20, Gerhard Irasamus scored 363 runs in 13 matches at an average of 33.00 and took 18 wickets at an average of 13.61.

Other players of the world to do so

Let me tell you, Gerhard Irasamus has also joined a special list. Actually, he is only the second player in the world to win the ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year award more than 1. Earlier, former Netherlands cricketer Ryan Ten Dashakate has done this feat. He won the ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year three times.
