Jammu and Kashmir Defeated Mumbai in Ranji Trophy : Many legends took part in the second round of Ranji Trophy. This is the first time in 11 years that Mumbai has lost against Jammu and Kashmir in Ranji Trophy. Mumbai team was limited to only 120 runs in 33.2 overs in its first innings. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the pavilion after scoring only 4 runs and Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion after scoring only 3 runs. After this, captain Ajinkya Rahane could also score only 12 runs. Whereas Shreyas Iyer 11 and Shivam Dubey could not even open the account. Shardul Thakur definitely played an inning of 51 runs in the lower order. For Jammu and Kashmir, Umar Nazir and Yudhveer Singh took 4-4 wickets.

Jammu and Kashmir created history by defeating Mumbai

In response, Jammu and Kashmir scored 206 runs in its first innings. Shubham Khajuria scored the highest score of 53 runs and Abid Mushtaq played an inning of 44 runs. Mumbai team scored 290 runs in the second innings. The top order including Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal could not do anything special in this innings either. In the lower order, Shardul Thakur scored a tremendous century and took the team to a big score. In this way, Jammu and Kashmir got the target of 205 runs to win and they achieved this target by losing 5 wickets in 49 overs.

Every batsman contributed on behalf of the team and that is why Jammu and Kashmir achieved a tremendous victory. Shams Mulani took 4 wickets from Mumbai side but could not save his team from defeat.
